I do love to stare into the pools,
Though the creatures that live beside the seaside
When looking up at us must think us fools!
Oh, it’s luverly wand’ring at the seaside
And especially at a low spring tide,
And to know that for getting to the seaside
Is no more than a five-minute ride!
N.B. All living specimens were returned unharmed to their pools at the end of the expedition.

There is something very refreshing and enervating about doing it, isn’t there?

I think it’s because it feels skilful catching them even to release them but to see living creatures up close was just amazing.

Doesn’t seem like late winter, does it? It is amazing how time flies when one is simply footling around in rock pools, until the tide says, ‘OK, now scram!’

Sadly we don’t seem to have anything in our rock pools when the tide goes out, but Hubby did find a small jelly fish which we put back in the sea.

Well, a jellyfish is something! Although it should have had a custard crab to go with it.

The jellyfish was on the sand which is how he found it. Mind you, it was nothing compared to the huge ones we found at Hamworthy. As for a custard crab, methinks you jest!!
