A perk of being on the judging teams for the captioned competition is to see so many stunning gardens. There was stiff competition for the honours and winners in the various individual categories were of a high standard. I’ll show some of those pictures at a later time.
For now, though, a few pictures from the breathtaking Kloof garden of the winner of Garden of the Year 2018, Danna Flack.
The competition was judged at the end of October, and the prizegiving was held last weekend.
I like the statuary. A garden can be a great gallery. 🙂

Oh, how lovely! If only I was a gardener.

To become one all it takes is to stick some plant material into a patch of earth!

Been there, done that many times but it never looks quite right. I did grow veg once.
My late hubby was the gardener and just before he died he planted up lots of raised beds full of little plants of veg. I didn’t have a clue what he’d planted so I had to wait for the plants to grow to find out!

I hope you recognised the edibles after they had grown!

Oh yes and enjoyed them for many months thanks to the freezer.

You really should repeat the experiment. Home grown cannot be matched for quality and nutrition. Just about everything that appears in the shops has one or another undesirable aspect.

Fingers crossed we should have new raised beds next spring.

I also want a bushbuck statue for my garden…

Don’t they look amazing? When I first saw them silhouetted, I thought they were real!

Thank you; the pictures fail, though, to convey the full stunning impact.
