See previous post — yesterday morning and latest cat was still too afraid of human hands to let them come anywhere near her. Now she is becoming convinced that they are the best thing since plates of food. The more the merrier, after due hesitation. Even I got to stroke her this evening!
Rob has been calling her Blatt, MBH (for no known reason) fancies Georgie Girl. My own recent preference is Blackit. All these are better than the original descriptive titles of The Monster Under the Bed, and then The Monster Under the House.
We paid another visit to Royal Natal Yacht Club for supper last night. A pleasant sunset, and the grandkids swam non-stop in the pool. Pity the harbour water is now too polluted to swim there as their mother and aunt used to do.

What a beautiful view, it’s a pity about the pollution ;-(

Pity, indeed. Oh, for a return to the days when there were flocks of flamingoes at the far side of that view.

Great kitty progress! I love the name options. We have been calling our feral little black cat the exciting name of “Black Kitty,” I think because I wasn’t sure she was going to continue to come to us and I didn’t want to get too attached. The other day my husband suggested “Shadow” and I think that may stick! 🙂

‘Shadow’ is a lovely name for a cat. They so often drift like one!
Another option I thought of was ‘Skitty’ because of how skittish she is.

I don’t suppose you can call her Nigger in memory of my Nigger that did sterling service in WWII

That name, as well as several others, is unfortunately likely to cause foaming at the mouth in SA and USA, having been persistently sensitised by a hysterical anti-racist mob to becoming worse than blasphemy.

Yet you may have noticed that American Negroes in their TV programs always refer to themselves as Niggers. I did read once many years ago that they were referred to as Niggers because the area in Africa from which they were transported was around the Niger River area. Whether that’s true or not I don’t know, probably comes from the word Negro, which is what they are just as Chinese and Japanese are Asian and we are Caucasian, wouldn’t worry me if someone called me a Cork!

How about Snow? A couple of reasons, A because she’s not White (don’t ask) and B because snow melts just like her! Just a suggestion!

Snow good suggesting that; ice see you get a frosty reception.

I think it is starting to filter through at last that humans have more uses than simply as food and shelter providers!
