It really is annoying
That the stuff we are destroying
With a ray
Turns out not the only feature:
There is yet another creature
There at play!
So, before this morning’s session
I was given the impression
Vividly,
That an -ologist I needed
That I have as yet not see-ded,
Now to see;
Then round hospital went stamping,
Forms caused lots of writer’s cramping:
Tell me why
Every time you see a new one,
Yet more forms are handed to one,
To apply?
And I booked there an appointment
Though it was a disappointment —
Not today —
And more blood tests there were taken,
Which some saved time will be makin’,
Anyway!
Therefore now, on top of cooking,
I must wait while they are looking
For the chance
That a biopsy they’re needing —
Hope, without, they’ll be succeeding!
Once you lance,
It increases chance of spreading
And on quagmire one’s treading;
That’s unless
One then whips it out quite smartly —
That is, all of it, not partly —
Best, I guess!

You are a wonderful example to all of us oldies. Thank you for that !

Thanks for that. The recipe is to go with the flow, and find the humour and enjoyment in the ride!

Patience, patience. All will be revealed. 🙂

Information, diagnoses and treatments are coming in increments. I suppose patience, and plenty of it, is certainly indicated.

Indeed. Are you still at the hospital or have you been “released”?

I was only admitted for an op. for a couple of days at the beginning of February; since then I have been visiting regularly (daily, for the last eight weekdays with two to go).

Ok. A bore, but at least almost done with tht phase. All the best Col.

Thanks; just had the 9th and only one to go!

All the best with the Oncologist. Anyone mentioned Chemotherapy yet? Though I suppose that’s where the Oncologist comes in. So sorry this has happened. You have the best attitude, the glass is always half full!

Thanks. Yes, Chemo is on the cards as well as whipping out some bits, perhaps.
Eek, that reminds me, I am overdue for a half-glass of Citrus Soda! Thanks for reminder.

I admire your humour Les, you are to be congratulated.

Weeping, wailing, and gnashing of teeth is singularly unproductive. Also, in many cases premature. How often have I seen people, sympathising with someone faced with something life-threatening, who then predecease them by a considerable margin! One’s number is only up when the numerical escalation actually occurs.

Absolutely Agree!

There is nothing easy or simple about what you’re going through. I like your attitude, however, and think that’s a good way to at least keep your head straight! All the best from me to you, Col.

It is certainly something new, and the challenge of fitting in all the visits and treatments and stuff while still attending to other responsibilities is keeping me on my toes!
Many thanks.

Oh Gawd, another ‘ologist. May it be quickly resolved.

May it, indeed, but the medical profession all seem to recommend hurrying up and waiting at a furious speed.

Good luck with the ologist X

Thanks — as long as I don’t end up with a zoologist!

That could be a more interesting recommendation for treatment ☺ Will keep everything crossed

Well, the gardening thing sounded fun!
Less said about the rest the better, I am guessing you would likely agree, Mister N?

Well at least the rest makes things . . . interesting.

Wish you a speedy connection with the necessary personnel.
I’m unclear about the fact that it sounds like you’re undergoing radiation therapy but it sounds as if you’ve not seen an oncologist. But, it could also be that my natural aversion to poetic prose keeps me from understanding what’s going on.
Stay strong, fight hard.

The radiation was to kick off with; then comes other solutions to meet other challenges.

Well, that sounds less than auspicious. My wish remains but it’s doubled.

Your positive attitude is going to see you through this horrible rollercoaster ride, of that I am sure! And we’ll be right here cheering you on!

Thanks! Some hoo-rays to add to the other rays I’m getting? 🙂
Last one of current series on Tuesday, I’m glad to say. They do get boring.

My oncologist whipped it out smartly, my stomach that is, no messing about, he said “out” and out it came, no chance of it spreading, although I’ll never forget what he said to me just minutes before he whipped it.

Something on the lines of, ‘Soon people who accuse you of having no guts will be quite right!’?

So sad you’re going through such a trying time, Col. It almost sounds as though the filling in of extra forms irks you the most. Hope all goes well for you.

I cannot for the life of me see why all doctors and things lurking at one particular institution can’t share the same database. Repeating the same rigmarole for each one is, certainly, irksome! Thanks.

want another kind of click – sympathy i suppose – humour as always helps us through
LikeLiked by 2 people
When all traces of humour disappear from my scribblings, a nice dose of sympathy is indicated. Until then, ‘Likes’ are regarded as applause for my awful rhyming!

I can’t click “like” though the rhyming is good as usual. What a horrible thing to go through!
I can’t stop thinking we completely misunderstand this stuff on the functional basis. I really hope they can whisk it out swiftly and without residue. Stay strong, my friend!
