Int…er…mit…te…nt Int…er…n…et.

Nothing to do with the anguished Really Awful Rhyme that follows, but I take this opportunity of showing off a drawing kindly given me for Christmas by the illustrator of ‘Tabika’. I have only just thought of taking a photocopy.

My internet is on the blink —
The signal comes and goes;
It comes when I’m away, I think,
The way my ‘Inbox’ grows;
But every time that I return.
To put in each reply,
I with frustrated rage will burn —
The line has said, ‘Bye-bye!’
So, while I get around to read
The stuff so kindly sent,
In answering I don’t succeed,
And no neglect is meant;
I’m going to send a message to
The guilty company,
Requesting that they will come through
And to the fault will see;
To moderate my language
Will be quite hard to do,
Because I’m filled with anguish,
And really in a stew!

    What a beautiful sketch?
    Our lives are so busy, then we need to rely on technology as well, (never mind having to deal with load shedding.) ;-(

    These days, few things are so frustrating
    as an Internet that’s not behaving.
    How did we ever cope before
    there was an Internet to deplore?
    Dependent on the beast by far
    despite often temped we are
    to attack it with a crowbar.

      The crowbar option was strongly tempting. Mind you, cat M went berserk chasing geckoes and his discarded collar last night, and very nearly did for the computers by leaping onto them from great heights.

        I got very good at corralling, capturing, and relocating geckos to the great outdoors. Won’t miss it, though.

          They won’t have thanked you. Geckos are very attached to the great indoors. Ours have every opportunity to opt out, but don’t.

          Oh, I’m well aware of that. It took me a good three months to gecko-proof the condo we were renting and still the little guys (very little guys) occasionally made it in (one every two or three months.

          I like the critters but Melisa is not as enamored with them. Truth be told, I’m also not very fond of them crapping all over the place.
