I have been fully preoccupied over the past several days with editing a movie script, against a 12h00 deadline today for submission to the Cannes Film Festival, on an unfamiliar software programme of considerable complexity. Not to mention, utter perversity. The 72nd Annual Festival this year will be held on 14th – 25th May.
Oh, it’s greatly to my credit,
Though I myself have said it,
That I am an editor
Who can tackle scripts or score,
Poems, manuscripts, the lot,
Whatever there May be as plot,
What it takes is what I’ve got,
And a great deal more!
When deadlines come into the mix
Then I Cannes do a slick quick-fix
To get it in the door
That deadline time before!
Film Festival or One-Act Play
I versatility display
In ever such a striking way
When with a muse meant soar!

It is certainly a challenge to edit a film script with its own special features. I had to do a lot of learning, fast.
Deadline met, as far as I know!

Deadlines pah!
They come and go when time’s essence is on show.
But all is fine when th’finish line is reached in time.

Too bad you had to deal with the software when your time is better spent with the contents of the script.

Indeed; I was fuming at having to wrestle with the programme instead of concentrating on the project.

A screenwriting program takes the easy part of the writing process (formatting) and allows a software company to make money.

Yes; I so love the fact that it was loudly proclaiming a free download but after that you’re expected to pay to use what you’ve downloaded. I should have learnt by now.
