Thumbs-up for a Thumbnail Sketch

A thumb reveals a lot
About the current plot;
While dirty nail shows work on pool –
Replacing struts with hand as tool –
And mark on nail shows that my vote
Into the record books they wrote,
While wound at base shows careless slip
In scraping out pole base’s lip . . .
A busy day can come
To be shown on one thumb!

The voting process in our handiest station went off slickly, which is more than can be said for some other parts of the country where a foretaste of the power cuts to come, and some doses of mob idiocy, interfered with the process.

The only thing to interfere with the pool repair process was the annoying descent of darkness before I had completed it.

    Interesting bruises . . . the geometry of them, I mean.

    It is the destiny of most democracy to fall to the might of the self-interest of the uninformed. Exceptions are rare . . . I can’t think of any.
