Yesterday we went for lunch to the ever-delightful Makaranga in Kloof. There the grandkids were the only ones to dare the distinctly chilly pool. I feel sure that if they found a pool in the Antarctic, they would go for it.
While on a stroll round the beautiful gardens (about 3 Km covered, according to my watch) I was admiring some colourful fish while granddaughters wandered off a short distance and got chatting to a lady with a sash and a coronet (shown with J wearing it) Miss Gauteng Exclusive Queen 2019, no less! She is certainly a good ambassador for youth and was happy to pose for the picture.
The skip was collected this morning after many moans at the height of packing, so I repacked it more securely. Another one to come. Can’t win — tried to burn some of our sticks yesterday and had irate neighbours over the road complaining that the smoke would get into their washing. What about braais?
Must dash — got some radio waves waiting to wave at me, after which Squad Swimming and collection of kids from school, after which Swimming School (new more advanced class) for Jeneva.
I love J wearing that coronet. What fun for the girls! And you had a nice day out and away from those “waves.”

No sea waves, either. But of course they still insisted on water.

I admire the girls for braving the chilly pool!
I used to get cross with my other half for lighting bonfires during summer days, smoke inside the house and smelly laundry on the line! No one else complained though!
