Family Matters

Elder Granddaughter posts on Fb:

Happy birthday to my badass mother, Kerryn Thomas. She is just about the most modest and self-sacrificing person I know, so I’ll take this opportunity to show her off a bit. Having spent her career helping struggling students thrive, both in South Africa and the UK, she got promoted this year to SENCO, so she’ll have yet another university qualification to add to the cum laude degrees and a masters which is still being read by historians in SA today. Her other achievements include single-handedly quadrupling the bird population just outside Romsey (there should be a go-fund-me page for bird seed at this point) and drinking several 20-somethings under the table, before getting up at 6am to go for a 5k run.
I am ever in awe of and indebted to you, mom. Happy birthday

What are the qualifications for the giver of this tribute?

Well, she has by talent, hard work and dedication turned a dream she has had from the age of 8, to do a degree at Oxford University, into reality. She has just passed her Masters in a field of English at that venerable institution, and will graduate in November.
