A Good Dog and a Question of Licence

Here we have Loki in the only mode where he is out of mischief. He actually takes delight at being yelled at. With new legislation that spanking in the home is illegal, he is probably going to take over completely. He will rip and eat what he likes where he likes.

Of course, the next logical step is for government and the judiciary to step in and make it illegal to yell at one’s kids or dogs, regardless. I can see a busy time for Welfare Officers, being called in for all sorts of matters that used to be sorted out shortly and sharply at home.

Why do people always have to go to extremes? Stricter legislation to prevent abuse of parental chastisement rights would have been the way to go, but no. Simply outlaw it. How ridiculous can you get?

Well, Drivers’ Licences have to be renewed tomorrow, so I’d better prepare to get up bright and early.

We do seem to be appointing the wrong end of the human animal as our “government”.

They do say that mathematics is the universal language – have you tried drawing some equilateral triangles or perhaps a short Fibonacci sequence for Loki whenever there is a transgression of house rules? It might work… Loki! Pee on that just once more and we shall have six or seven harsh minutes of Euclidean geometry!

  3. Too bad they can’t mandate the use of commonsense..but that might be difficult as so few recognize even a small example of it any more.
    Pack manners rule!

I agree, the animal world chastise their young, it’s the most natural thing. The puppy receives a sharp short nip and the kitten receives a quick swipe of a paw. Unfortunately, too many humans abuse and bully their young.

I have a four year old granddaughter who would benefit from having a cat or a dog as a parent! Nuff said!
