Queens of whimsy, initially quarrelsome, then quite quick, never quiet but quiveringly quintessential. Thank Q.

Thanks for introducing me to Salut Salon (via Cee who reblogged this). This in turn led me to a great 40 min documentary on the quartet on YouTube. The interviews are in German but there are lots of stunning performances in between. These women, apart from being extraordinarily gifted, have an amazing sense of humour.

Don’t you go standing on your head trying this party piece out. I have seen it before, but fell in love with them all over again.

One has to try and drive one of those incredibly tricky machines to appreicate just how brilliant they are. Even upside-down the pianist does that Mozart sonata better than I do!
