(Read on at your own peril of wild puns; each pair’ll savage your mental stability.)
A bear is not bare but is covered in hair;
While beers ale and arty aren’t Bruin; [1]
When bears go out badgering one might declare
It might bee the honey[2] they drew in?
June-bugs in dune buggies may well bug in May,
Though mayflies may fly in November,
But if they’re due not[3] to, at walks they will stay –
D’you know,[4] flight they may not remember?
Dog-roses and catkins aren’t fighting at all,
And the field mice in houses do dwell,
While fruit-flies on veggies voraciously fall,
Green bloodhounds those roses now smell?
Adore mouse[5] that’s entering Windows these days,
And the peacocks as been storks[6] are found;
Then, groundhogs produce aerobatics displays,
But the skylarks will lark on the ground.
For those who don’t get enough pun-nishment:
1 Brewing; 2 Honey badger; 3 June not to; 4 June no; 5 A do(o)rmouse; 6 A honey badger; 7 Beanstalks
You are way too clever for me, I fear.

Not clever, for sure –
But way too obscure?

I can see a certain literarily opinionated assassin polishing his semi-automatic wondering if puns are as bad as alliteration… 😉

Glad you think so – I must admit it was one that gave me a lot of satisfaction when completed. Particularly the door mouse entering windows.
